GOBI Library Solutions, a division of EBSCO Information Services, provides print and digital content, supporting collection management and technical services to academic, research and special libraries throughout the world.  GOBI has 300 employees with customers in 63 countries and is located in the Concord, NH area.

The Accounting Manager for GOBI Library Solutions will be responsible for managing the monthly close process, prepare and reconcile the general ledger and journal entries, assist with internal and external audits, prepare financial reports, lead the entire Accounting department and provide guidance on accounting and tax matters. This position will also be responsible for managing AP and AR functions in a high-volume environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Month-end and quarter-end close responsibilities including close calendar, journal entry review and approval, review of account reconciliations and direct responsibilities for complex reconciliations
  • Issue timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports
  • Provides direction to staff to ensure all financial activity is recorded within established time frames and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP) and corporate guidelines
  • Assist corporate headquarters and international offices with accounting, tax and reporting related matters including but not limited to domestic and international taxation (example: GST, VAT, financial close related matters, and audit support)
  • Develop and maintain accounting procedures
  • Manage year-end audit requirements and provide necessary support
  • Train and mentor department staff to ensure adequate back up for critical functions.
  • Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment
  • Supervises the Accounting Team to ensure efficient processing of information consistent with proper internal controls
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, establishing standards and appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees, addressing complaints and solving problems
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure timely completion of business user acceptance testing for any technical deployment impacting financial/accounting system
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP, internal controls and financial close management
  • 5+ years of relevant full cycle accounting experience  
  • Experience at the Accounting Manager level
  • Advanced Excel and experience with any large ERP systems,
  • Experience in a high-volume environment (AP, AR)
  • Solid understanding of inventory, revenue recognition, foreign currencies, intercompany and multi-entity environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA with public experience is a plus (but not required)
  • Distribution or manufacturing industry experience
  • Experience working in global organization with international locations/subsidiaries
  • Experience in a high-volume environment (AP, AR)
  • Experience with Access, SAP, Tableau are highly desired
