Your Opportunity:

The Subscription Services Division of EBSCO Information Services (EIS), located in Birmingham, AL, is seeking an Accounts Payables Manager for the Publisher Operations group. The Accounts Payable manager will lead a team of Accounts Payable Representatives in prioritizing the day-to-day operations and working with the team to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the payables process.  In addition, the Accounts Payable manager will be actively involved in maintaining and refining process and procedures for the payables team.

 

What You’ll Do (Primary Responsibilities):

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable department, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor management.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline the accounts payable process and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Manage the accounts payable team, providing leadership, guidance, and training as needed.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure timely payment to vendors.
  • Perform regular audits of accounts payable transactions to identify and address any discrepancies or issues.
  • Analyze accounts payable data to identify trends, improve processes, and optimize cash flow management.
  • Maintain relationships with key vendors.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for management, summarizing accounts payable performance and highlighting areas for improvement.

 


About You:

  • 7+ years of experience in accounts payable or related financial roles, with 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial position
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and vendors
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

 

What sets you apart:

  • Degree in business, finance/accounting or related field
  • Experience using SAP
  • Experience with Tableau or similar applications
  • Experience with AP system implementations

Target Annual Compensation Range: $70,975 - $101,390

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location.
