EBSCO Information Services is looking for an Inside Sales Representative to call on academic, medical, corporate, public library and K-12 school customers in a designated territory and introduce/sell our subscription services and related products. The candidate in this position will serve customers by selling products and meeting customer needs; as well as establish new accounts, service existing accounts, and obtain orders by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets.


The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for generating new leads to close sales, cultivating customer relationships via retention responsibilities, and developing solid working relationships with EBSCO’s publisher partners. The candidate in this position must be focused on sales efforts and keep management informed by submitting daily call and activity reports, weekly work plans. Knowledge of competition will be necessary for gathering market information on pricing and products that will result in recommending changes to customers in products and service.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years continuous office experience in an office setting (employment stability is a must)
  • 1-3 years experience with MS Office Suite, including Microsoft Teams
  • High School Diploma
  • This position requires a person who can work with minimal supervision, prioritize work and make decisions. 


Required Skills:

  • Professional telephone etiquette
  • Experience at organization and prioritization
  • Experience in time management skills including follow-up procedures
  • Outgoing, self-motivated, and goal-oriented Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and be comfortable cold calling daily.
  • Ability to work remotely as a hybrid employee, with the ability to travel if necessary, for required scheduled office time.


Preferred Skills:

  • Prior phone sales experience
  • Experience with inside sales and cold calling techniques
  • Experience within the subscription services industry or publisher facing experience
