Accounts Receivable Manager

The Accounts Receivable Manager will lead a team of Accounts Receivable Representatives in collecting accounts receivable, providing outstanding financial customer service, and driving compliance with business rules, payment card industry guidelines, and sales and use tax requirements. Additionally, the AR Manager will contribute to endeavors to implement solutions and define and refine business processes within credit-to-cash.

Responsibilities 

• Manage and prioritize collections
• Manage of workflow for team of 5-25 individuals 
• Mentor and develop team members with focus on EBSCO Leadership Principles and Competencies
• Collaborate with leaders of other areas of the business to develop and refine processes
• Hire new team members 
• Oversee training of new team members 
• De-escalate and resolve customer concerns around billing and payment  
• Prepare and deliver accounts receivable reporting, analysis and presentations  
• High-level account management 
• Financial reporting and analysis  
• Other projects and responsibilities as assigned 

Required Qualifications 

• 4+ years of business-to-business collections experience
• 2+ years of experience managing a team of 3 or more people
• 2+ years demonstrated success in collections management 
• Experience working with software and tools which support the collections process
• Experience prioritizing collections
• General understanding of accounting concepts
• Proficiency using Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and virtual lookups
• Excellent web meeting, written, verbal and face-to-face communication skills
• Proficiency using Microsoft PowerPoint to build presentations including data visualization
• Success working with multiple teams across a complex organization 

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in business, accounting or related field
• Commercial credit management experience
• Bookkeeping experience
• French language skills
• Experience using SAP
• Experience using commercial collections management software

The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent communication skills, the ability to use judgment together with experience to make decisions, excellent leadership skills, flexibility, creativity, and an extremely positive attitude. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to create dynamic reports using Microsoft Excel and provide data visualization for presentations, will be familiar with emerging technologies in credit-to-cash, and will be very comfortable communicating via web meeting software with camera on a day-to-day basis.

Excellent attendance is required. Due to the COVID pandemic, all EBSCO team members are required to be flexible as it relates to their working environment. Team members may be asked to work remotely or within the office by their leadership team.
