Job Summary

Position Objective

The ZUMA Fitness Professional plays a key role in enhancing the owner, guest, and staff experience at Alys Beach by delivering exceptional fitness programming, personalized training, and community-focused wellness services. This position supports ZUMA’s mission to inspire healthy, active, and connected lifestyles while upholding the Alys Beach Core Values and exude excellence, hospitality, integrity, stewardship, and respect for community.

As an ambassador of Alys Beach and ZUMA, this role blends technical fitness expertise with elevated service standards to create a welcoming, professional, and inspiring wellness environment.

Job Summary

The ZUMA Fitness Professional is responsible for providing high-quality personal and group fitness training services that improve overall well-being, increase strength and stamina, and enhance the enjoyment of the fitness experience for owners, guests, and staff. This role contributes to a culture of health, connection, and hospitality while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and facility presentation.

First day medical benefits and company profit sharing. $1,000 sign-on bonus for this position.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Fitness Programming & Instruction

• Design and deliver safe, professional, engaging, and results-driven personal and group training programs for a diverse population of owners, guests, and staff
• Instruct participants on the safe and effective use of cardiovascular, strength, flexibility, and functional training equipment
• Conduct fitness consultations, including pre-participation screening, lifestyle assessments, medical history review, and goal setting
• Perform fitness assessments and equipment orientations
• Deliver customized programs based on referring physician guidelines when required
• Facilitate specialty classes, workshops, and fitness seminars aligned with ZUMA programming standards

Experience & Hospitality

• Enhance the overall ZUMA and Alys Beach experience through personalized attention, proactive engagement, and elevated service
• Create a welcoming, inclusive, and motivating environment that reflects the Alys Beach brand and lifestyle
• Serve as a positive role model and wellness ambassador for the community
• Engage members in programs that foster movement, connection, and long-term participation

Operations & Facility Standards

• Maintain exceptional cleanliness, organization, and presentation of all fitness spaces using all five senses
• Follow all standard operating procedures related to safety, sanitation, scheduling, and recordkeeping
• Support scheduling and coordination of personal training and group fitness sessions
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and oversight of contract fitness trainers, as applicable

Team & Leadership Support

• Collaborate with the Senior Manager of ZUMA and ZUMA leadership team to support program development and continuous improvement
• Contribute to talent development, coaching standards, and positive team culture
• Support measurement and evaluation of fitness programs and participant engagement

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Minimum of 5 years of personal and/or group training experience
• Demonstrated program design experience, including functional training modalities (e.g., TRX and similar systems)
• Current nationally recognized personal training certification (minimum of one)
• CPR/AED certification (current)

Preferred Qualifications

• Four-year degree in kinesiology, exercise science, sports medicine, or related field
• Experience in luxury hospitality, resort, private club, or community wellness environments
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to deliver multisensory instruction (auditory, visual, tactile, kinesthetic)
• Certifications through organizations such as ACE, NASM, or equivalent

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to demonstrate exercises and movements safely and effectively
• Ability to lift, move, and position fitness equipment as required
• Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
