Job Summary
The VP of Development leads strategic initiatives to promote growth and development within the community. This role oversees pre-construction planning, design coordination, budgeting, stakeholder communication to ensure projects align with organizational goals and deliver exceptional experiences for owners and residents. Additionally, the VP of Development oversees all commercial construction projects including condos, amenities, parks, ped paths and infrastructure construction.
Job Responsibilities
- Development Planning & Execution

- Manage the pre-construction development planning process, including design reviews and approvals.
- Establish and monitor project budgets and schedules in collaboration with finance and executive leadership.
- Coordinate with architects, designers, engineers, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and quality standards.
- Manage the construction process, serving as the primary Owner Representative, approving all changes to the project following commencement of construction, in collaboration with finance and executive leadership, as needed.
- Stakeholder Communication

- Maintain clear communication with internal teams, ownership groups, and external partners.
- Draft development updates, presentations, and owner communications regarding project milestones.
- Serve as liaison between the organization and parent company for capital requests and project vetting in collaboration with finance and executive leadership.
- Team & Meeting Management

- Schedule and participate in executive and development meetings;
- Promote collaboration and transparency across departments and with external consultants.
- Governance & Reporting

- Oversee design review processes and ensure alignment with community standards.
- Prepare and present development updates to leadership and stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience in real estate development, community planning, or construction management.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
