Alys Beach is a groundbreaking community located along the Gulf of Mexico on Florida’s panhandle coast, six miles east of Seaside on Scenic Highway 30A. Planned by Duany Plater-Zyberk & Company, Alys Beach is a Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND) whose architectural vision has its roots in the style of Bermuda architecture and in the courtyards of Antigua, Guatemala, the colonial capital of Central America.

The General Manager of Alys Beach reports directly to the President of Alys Beach. An award-winning, master-planned New Urbanist community, Alys Beach is located in beautiful Northwest Florida, along Scenic Highway 30A on the Gulf of Mexico. Alys Beach’s multi-generational owners and guests are primarily from the southeastern US, however emerging markets continue to develop outside of our traditional drive markets.  This person will be responsible for significant aspects of the operations of the Alys Beach residential community.  This will include resort/recreational facilities including food and beverage outlets, property management including the Alys Beach Neighborhood Association (ABNA) and various condominium associations, a vacation rental home program managed internally and all information technology programs, efforts and needs.  The General Manager will be a critical member of the team.  This individual will also be responsible for ensuring the operations at Alys Beach are executed to maximize the overall value of this residential and resort community.  The GM will also work closely with other departments such as real estate sales, marketing, events, operations and other divisions vital to the success of the entire community.  Alys Beach is roughly sixty percent developed, so there will be ample opportunity for future growth for the right individual.   At build out, we will have right under 800 privately owned residences throughout the 158 acre coastal town.

 

Compensation:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • With a strong existing team, supervise and manage the daily operations of the residential community:
    • Resort/Recreational facilities
      • All current and future amenities (Beach Club, Caliza Restaurant & Pool, ZUMA Wellness Center, NEAT Bottle Shop and Tasting Room and Beach Service)
      • Five star service level but with a comfortable casual nature
    • Property Management
      • Homeowner and condominium associations
      • Maintenance
      • Security
    • Vacation Rental Home Program
    • Information Technology
  • Provide on-site leadership by attending essentially all property owner events, community sponsored activities, monthly events, and holiday events 
  • Enhance the communication with property owners and their guests, existing team members, rental guests, and the 30A community
  • Public speaking at meetings and events
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports as requested
  • Develop, present, and execute the annual plan, including capital expenditures and associated budgets
  • Develop and present a business case for all capital expenditures
  • Display a thorough knowledge of Alys Beach and all of the community’s attributes including a thorough understanding of the governing documents for the community
    • Neighborhood and commercial associations
    • Future amenities/club documents
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; Hospitality Management major preferred
  • 10+ years experience managing luxury Homeowner/Property Owner Associations 
  • Substantial private club or hospitality industry experience with management and supervisory experience  
  • Management of complex capital projects required
  • Computer skills to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint
