Pay Range:  $80,000.00 - $100,000.00

GAFCO Industries has an exciting new opening for an experienced Assistant General Manager to join the team. This Colorado-based position will support the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of manufacturing, coating, machining, and assembly operations. This includes maintaining throughput targets, ensuring safety and quality standards, managing personnel, and driving operational excellence across multiple departments to include conduit coating line, machine shop, fittings production, conduit bending and engineering support. We are looking for an entrepreneurial spirited individual who can roll up their sleeves and be boots on the ground when needed!

Job Responsibilities

Operations & Production

  • Assist in managing daily plant operations across coating, machining, bending and assembly lines.
  • Coordinate production schedules to meet delivery targets and optimize equipment uptime.
  • Monitor key performance metrics (OEE, scrap rates, throughput, downtime).
  • Oversee raw material flow, finished goods inventory, and work-in-progress coordination.
  • Implement and enforce LEAN manufacturing, 6S, and safety best practices

Quality & Engineering Collaboration

  • Collaborate with local and nationwide entities to make sure our product is written into engineering standards.
  • UL specification supporting products and new products.
  • AutoCAD and Fusion 360 CAD print work.
  • New product development.

Maintenance & Continuous Improvement

  • Support preventative maintenance schedules and process reliability initiatives.
  • Participate in LEAN events and cost-reduction projects
  • Recommend and help implement new equipment, tooling, and process technologies.

Job Requirements

Required

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing or production leadership, ideally in metal fabrication, coating, or machining industries.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, from raw material intake to finished product shipment.
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to train and motivate production teams.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, production scheduling, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and mechanical/industrial processes.
  • Experience with powder coating, electrostatic coatings, or conduit manufacturing.
  • Welding knowledge/certification
  • Ability to work in warehouse environments and carry an excess of 50lbs regularly.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management or related field.
  • LEAN Six Sigma certification or CI training background.
  • CNC machining and assembly process experience.
