Pay Range: $33,800.00 to $44,900.00
Job Summary
The Welder Helper assists skilled welders in the fabrication, assembly, and repair of metal structures and equipment. This role supports daily by preparing materials, maintaining tools, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Job Responsibilities
· Assist welders with setup and operation of welding equipment
· Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, cleaning, and positioning metal parts
· Hold or align materials during welding or fabrication processes
· Operate basic tools such as grinders, drills, and cutting torches
· Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment
· Transport materials and finished products using hand tools or machinery
· Follow blueprints, sketches, or instructions from lead
· Ensure all work is performed according to safety standards and procedures
· Assist with loading and unloading materials or equipment
Job Requirements
· High school diploma or GED preferred
· Basic knowledge of welding or metal fabrication is a plus
· Ability to use hand and power tools safely
· Physical ability to lift heavy materials (typically 50+ lbs), stand for long periods, and work in various environments
· Willingness to learn welding techniques and safety practices
· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Essential Job Function
· Familiarity with MIG, TIG, or stick welding processes
· Experience in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting
· Basic blueprint reading skills
· Forklift certification (a plus, not required)
